Sahel App Unveils Innovative Feature for Domestic Workers’ Visa Transfer. In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Interior has introduced a new service for the transfer of residence for domestic workers from one sponsor to another.

This initiative is facilitated through the government’s unified application, Sahel, and is a collaborative effort between the General Administration of Information Systems and the Nationality and Residence Affairs Sector within the Ministry, as reported by Al-Seyassah daily.

Service Rollout Details

The General Department of Security Relations and Media at the Ministry provided insights into the service rollout. Initially, the service will cater specifically to domestic workers falling under Article (20) for females. Subsequently, in the next phase, it will extend to cover the residency transfer of workers falling under Article (20) for males.

Application Process

According to the ministry’s press statement, the transfer process commences with the current sponsor of the domestic worker using the Sahel application. The subsequent steps involve the new sponsor completing the transfer procedures after receiving a notification through the application.

Key Requirements

Emphasizing the importance of certain prerequisites, the ministry highlighted the necessity of establishing a new employment contract between the domestic worker and the new sponsor during the transfer.

Additionally, the new sponsor must be a Kuwaiti national, married, not less than 18 years old, and should not face any obstacles in the relationship between the sponsor and the worker being transferred.
